GLP-1 Overview
Glucagon-like peptide 1 is a type of hormone known as an incretin. Incretins stimulates insulin secretion in response to food intake, among other effects.
In addition to stimulating insulin secretion, GLP-1 slows gastric emptying, inhibits glucagon release, and acts in the brain to decrease appetite and food intake.
